I found this one, which seems to use the same module. The recommended product won't get to me until November 28 at least, which is way too long. Thanks a lot Xeon2k8 and Malachi for your help. I'd rather send the $10 then buy another router (especially that I really love the R7000). Well, it's already shipping anyway so I'll try them, but I'll order your recommendation just to be on the safe side. I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.Īhhhh had such a nice documentation and macOS drivers. I think it was Malachi or some other guru that said that those type never worked for him but rather this did: However, according to the instructions, we are not connecting the 5V pins, only GND, RX, TX, so is it ok, or do I need another one? Do that and you'll be fine.īut only realized now that the instructions call for a 3.3 V and this one uses 5 V. Read the instructions through fully before getting stuck in is another tip. Once you've got the adapter then what you need is time, quiet and patience. I was very concerned about making sure voltages were the right spec. My biggest hassle was making sure that I matched the cables correctly with the adapter that I sourced from eBay. I can vouch for the instructions that Malachi refers to.

The router doesn't respond to 192.168.1.1 even if I specify an IP in that range for my machine. Tried resetting the firmware using the solution here: īut I can't ping anything. When I connect using an Ethernet cable I get assigned this weird IP :169.254.184.190 Tried to reset it a million times, holding the reset button for a long time, can't get anything. Upgraded the firmware and now my router is bricked. I already had DD-WRT installed for a long time now.ĭownloaded dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin from here () Posted: Fri 4:11 Post subject: R7000 Bricked after update, please help, I'm desperate
